2011 NOMINATION ELECTION NOTICE The Election of the President, Vice President,
Recording Secretary, Secretary-Treasurer and three (3) Executive Board
Members of Local 563 will take place between November 10th and December 5th,
2011, by secret mail ballot. The Executive Board positions are as follows: 1 - Member from Aircraft Maintenance, 1 - Member from Stores, 1 - Member with a Majority of Votes,
regardless of Department. The Elected Officers and Executive
Board members will assume Office on Monday, January 2, 2012 for a term of
(3) years. The Election will be supervised by the Election
Committee, administered by the American Arbitration Association (A.A.A.) and
will be conducted in accordance with the Constitution of the Transport
Workers Union of America and By-Laws of Local 563 using the following
procedures: A member, to be eligible for nomination and election to
any office, shall be in good standing in accordance with the International
Constitution of the Transport Workers Union of America, AFL-CIO, and the
By-Laws of Local 563. Nominations shall be by
petition. Official Nomination paperwork is available for pick up at the
Local 563 office; address listed below and will be available from each
Election Committee member and Alternate member or can simply be downloaded
here. Nominating
petitions must contain each member’s
signature,
printed name, and
employee number. Nominations shall require a minimum of five (5%) percent
of the signatures of members in good standing. (Note: Current membership
totals approximately 540, so a minimum of 27 signatures will be required.)
Petitions must be submitted to a Committee Member by October 31st with original signatures. Photocopies will
not be accepted. Listing on the ballot will be selected
randomly by drawing the candidates’ names out of a hat by the Election
Committee. Petitions must be received by mail or
delivered to the Election Committee not later than 12:00 PM, on Monday,
October 31, 2011.

ELECTION
Ballots will be counted and
the results of the election will be made official on December 5, 2011. The
Election Committee will
make public the certified results of the election on December 5, 2011. All disputes, questions, or
requests pertaining to the Election must be submitted in writing, addressed
